The Arrival (week 2)

The foster mom has been very busy lately to post so she didn’t have a chance to post this one on time. It has been a very exciting time! Sorry we are so late.

Monday March 4th – I was super sad that I was not able to meet the other cats this past weekend. Foster mom said we had to have some results of a test before I could do that. She said she would take me on Saturday to have the test and as soon as the results came in negative I can play with the other cats without having to sit on her lap or right next to her. I can not wait till I can run and play with her cats. I can use the exercise because I think I am getting fat! Dori is getting fat too. She can not even clean herself.

Tuesday March 5th- Dori had a check up today at the vet.

She was very nervous because she said the vet looked a lot like he shelter. She thought our foster mom was bringing her back. Everyone at the vet wanted to touch her belly and pet her. The vet told her that we would have to be separated very soon because she is almost ready to have her babies. The people at the vet were very nice she said. I cannot wait to go to the vet!

Wednesday March 6TH – Today when foster mom got home she began moving my things out of the room Dori and I had been staying in. Dori is going to stay in that room by herself from now on.

It made me kind of sad. I was moved into a slightly smaller room by myself.

Foster mom reassured me that as soon as the test results came in I could roam and play with the other cats in the house. For now I am stuck in here by myself and it gets very lonely. I got some new toys brought to me which I like.

Soon enough I will be able to roam and play with all the other cats that I see underneath the door. I can’t wait for that. Until then I will wait. I keep reminding myself that every day is another step to find my forever home.

Thursday March 7th – Today I got to come out of my room and sit on my foster moms lap. I was able to watch a box with many pictures on it called a “TV.”

We watched this show called Swamp People. I really like swamp people. I get very excited when they pull those big animals out of the water. It is my new favorite thing.  I was greeted by “LuLu,” the foster mom’s orange tabby that looks a lot like us.

I don’t think she liked me much. She just stared at me with her big eyes and sat behind foster mom’s head…she is always watching me!

Foster mom surprised me before I went to bed and told me Peyton is coming tomorrow and I just can’t wait to play with him!

Friday March 8th- Today I was by myself again till foster mom got home with Peyton. I was so excited to see him and he was excited to see me. Peyton brought some new friends to meet me. One of them was named Chuck Liddell.

Then we played with a dog stuffed animal. I was sad when he had to go take his bath. Peyton came in and read me a story before bed.

Foster mom said I better get my rest because tomorrow I am going to get my shots and take my test. I am so excited because that means I can play with the other cats soon and not be so board during the day. I am one happy cat.

Saturday March 9th- This morning Foster dad came in and fed me my breakfast while foster mom got dressed. After I ate Foster mom put me into the pet taxi and we went to the car. We drove for a few minutes and got out in front of a big building. There were people and animals everywhere! We got into a long line where I met a pitbull puppy named Jersey and a shitzu named Charlie. We made friends and talked until finally it was my turn.

The doctor took me out of my pet taxi and put me on a metal table. He did not even tell me hello before he started touching me…he looked in my ears and made me open my mouth. The next thing I know he had me in a towel. I knew at that point that this could not be good. He took this sharp thing and took my blood! I saw it going into a tube! I was a big boy and only cried for a second. After I thought it was over they gave me even more shots. I was so glad when it was all over. I told my friends goodbye and we headed home. So glad my test is done. Now I can play with the other cats! Well at least that’s what I thought. Foster mom told me that she was so sorry because she had been mistaken. It seems that it will take a week to get the results of my tests in. At least Peyton is here to keep me busy. I was so happy when I got home and he was in my room waiting for me. And I got something new called a coller.

A while went by without me seeing my foster mom. She was late to bring me my lunch. I wondered what is going on. Peyton brought me some kibble. Hours later foster mom came in and told me that Dori had her babies.

There were 3 boys and 1 little girl. All healthy and orange tabbies like us. Foster mom would only bring me by the door and said I could not go in. Dori said she waited until foster mom got home from bringing me to have them because she was scared to do it without her. She said it hurt a lot and that foster mom promised her she would never have to go through that again. She told me she was happy it was over but very tired and ready to go to sleep. I went to sleep happy knowing that I would have even more friends soon enough! I wonder what they will look like and what their names will be???  Have a great week everyone!--Dex
